The magic of Ramie

Recently we have begun to explore the world of sustainable fabrics. Sustainability has always been at the forefront of our brand, as we reuse and recycle materials as well as support fellow artisans and collectors worldwide.

We have had a strong focus on bringing you a collection of high quality preloved and vintage threads in the past and now it feels like time to focus more on sustainable garments. Our collection of sustainable garments are all made from ramie, a sustainable fabric much like hemp that is beautiful to wear and planet positive.

So what is Ramie?
Ramie is a natural fibre derived from the ramie plant in the nettle family. It has been used to make clothing for thousands of years! It can be grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemicals. It’s also 100% biodegradable!

Ramie is incredibly breathable and absorbent, perfect for the warmer months. It’s also a beautiful weight to layer in the cooler months. We recommend a cool hand wash and line dry in a shady spot to get the most life out of your ramie pieces! They’ll be a staple in your wardrobe.
